For almost a century, Jewish Family Service (JFS) has offered hope and help to thousands of people in the Jewish and general community. Guided by our mission of Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, we improve and strengthen lives through the delivery of the following programs and services
We offer programs and services that support adult children of aging parents, enable older adults to take on the challenges of aging at home, and remaining connected to their community.
We address basic emergency needs of hunger, food insecurity and lack of appropriate clothing. Individuals and families are helped with both their immediate concerns and with solutions that address long-term stability.
After many decades of providing adoption services to the local community, as of January 1, 2019, Jewish Family Service of Rochester will no longer provide adoption home studies.
We offer programs and workshops that provide information and education that will enable our clients to adapt to change, reach their maximum potential, and lead fulfilling lives.
We help individuals and families who are dealing with anxiety, depression, and many other life challenges to help take control of their lives and achieve personal goals.
